If you sold a domain name that is currently hosted with Google Domains, and the buyer of your domain name also wants to use Google Domains to host it, please make sure you follow the following steps.
Google Domains doe snot do pushes per se. As a seller, your responsibility is to “share domain management” with another Google user. You can learn more about it on Google Domain’s website.
To share management of your domain:
- Sign in to Google Domains.
- Select the name of your domain.
- Open Menu.
- Click Registration settings.
- Under ‘Domain permissions’, click Add user.
- Enter the email address.
- Confirm that you’ve added the user.
The person that you are sharing with will receive an email notification with a link to log in to Google Domains.
IMPORTANT! Please make sure that after you share domain management with the buyer, you remove yourself as a user from it. That way, the only person that will have access to this domain name is the buyer.
To do so:
- Sign in to Google Domains.
- Select the name of your domain.
- Open Menu.
- Click Registration settings.
- Under ‘Domain permissions’, click Delete next to yourself to remove.
- Confirm that you’ve deleted the user.
