We consider a name “hot” if it is getting an especially high number of positive signs in the past 7 days, including:

• Page views
• Enquiries
• Favourites

Hot names are determined automatically. The details of this are purposely kept secret to avoid abuse, and may change over time.

How this drives sales

Visitors are told if a name is hot, that the name is likely to sell soon, and they should order now to avoid disappointment.

We’ve designed this as a form of social proof to encourage purchase.
