Today (25th of June 2024) HostPapa announced they have acquired Brandpa.
Here we break down what this means for domain sellers on our platform.
Who are HostPapa?
HostPapa is a leading hosting company for small and medium businesses.
In 2023, HostPapa provided hosting to over 500,000 websites. They have appeared on the PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada’s fastest-growing companies.
Brandpa will join HostPapa as part of their family of services, to help businesses acquire their perfect domain name.
How will this benefit you?
We know domain sellers are the lifeblood of any domain marketplace, and we want to take good care of you.
With this acquisition, Brandpa’s sellers stand to benefit in many ways:
- Larger customer base: With HostPapa’s extensive customer base, domain sellers will gain access to a broader audience, increasing the chances of their domains being noticed and purchased.
- Better marketing: HostPapa’s marketing capabilities can promote Brandpa’s domain listings more effectively, leading to higher visibility and potentially more sales.
- Better payment options: HostPapa’s payment systems now offer more flexible payment options for our customers, adding support for paying in currencies other than US dollars.
- Better roadmap: Beyond hosting, HostPapa’s expertise in developing branding services for new businesses, like Logomaker.com, will provide opportunities to expand the roadmap and sell better.
- More resources: HostPapa is a much larger team, who can help support, develop, market, and manage the Brandpa platform.
Other questions you might have
Q: Will anything change for me immediately?
A: The only immediate change is an upgrade to our checkouts and invoices. We are now able to accept payments via multiple currencies, not just US dollars!
Otherwise, Brandpa will carry on working like you are used to.
Q: Will I be able to speak to Jowita?
A: For immediate help, support and sales, Jowita can still be contacted for 60 days from this announcement. HostPapa will take on her responsibilities, and introduce the new team during that time as well.
Q: Will Brandpa become…. Brand-papa?
A: No 🙂 Brandpa will keep its name. We love it, HostPapa loves it, and there are no current plans to change it.
Q: What happens to my domains that were sold on an installment plan?
A: Any domains sold by installment plans before 25th of June 2024 will be completed as planned, but we may contact you via email to manage the transition.
